The Core Idea (Manifesto)
The Decision
Congratulations, you weren't deterred by the extensive introduction and are still reading. I assume – and I'd like to presume this – that you are interested in a possibility for change.
I hereby warmly welcome you to the actual idea.
The Principle
The idea is simple, and therefore so effective. It rests on the notion that everything that develops originates from us as a community. The actual unfolding process arises decentrally and permanently in the present moment. We decide and immediately release the decision again so that the process can continue unhindered. The process is in an uninterrupted flow. The community makes the necessary decision directly and within the ongoing process. The process is neither slowed down nor stopped, nor is it obstructed in any other way in its flow. The essential point: The decision requires no thinking process but is generated by the pure intelligence of life itself.
The energy channeled into this process is experienced as liberation and a kind of invigoration of being. This energy does not need to be generated, but only channeled. It is already present in the energy network of life and is permanently available to the process. It may sound strange, but you can verify it directly for yourself.
The decisions made by the community are pure co-determinations and therefore generate no negative feelings. They are merely snapshots in the ongoing process and are replaced by the next short-term decision. No mistakes can be made. The participating community is enthusiastic, motivated and inspired by the effects of togetherness, the joy of cooperation, participation in creation and mutual help to keep the process running.
I will from now on refer to the described process as the Hermes Principle.
The Application
The political application of the Hermes Principle is simple and almost revolutionary.
To introduce such a form into the existing political system, the system itself does not need to be changed. It is sufficient to simply apply the principle, let it unfold uncontrollably and protect it with maternal love.
We do not need to dream of a utopia of true artificial intelligence; we already have an even greater intelligence in our human commonality, which has been waiting since the beginning of time for its discovery and liberation.
The Interest Group
A political movement forms an interest group, a party. The party itself, however, in its current structure and application, is incapable of integrating such a principle. The existing pyramid form, the decision-making structure, censorship in party development and the decoupling between parliament/party/members/voters must be fundamentally changed for this.
The development of a political application of the Hermes Principle I henceforth give the name: The Hermes Project.
The party can remain as a construct. The structure, however, is reduced to a single level, the membership level. Every member has the same status and the same powers. The functional principle is fixed in 3 rules.
Every decision is decided by direct vote
Every voting result is a binding resolution
A new decision is possible at any time
The vote is conducted digitally. The application can take place in real time. The Liquid Feedback system developed by the Pirate Party serves as the model.
The elected representatives of the party in the state and federal parliaments are bound by every resolution made through a vote and follow this instruction in their parliamentary activities. The voting behavior of the representing parliamentarians in the state and federal parliaments is also decided beforehand by direct vote by the party members. The parliamentarian is a pure representative of the party and primarily an equal full member.
The party acts in real time and is not bound to any agenda or target paper in its ongoing development. It has no party or election program. The party is obligated only to the German Basic Law in its resolutions.
The Influence
The Hermes Project can exert a decisive and direct influence on existing politics through its practical application. On the one hand, it gives every member guaranteed, direct and unlimited co-determination, permanently and at every moment. The motivation through the co-determination effect releases creative potential and develops innovative possibilities from a broad mass. Every contributed collaboration is a successful investment for the entire project.
Just as the bazaar principle of the open-source developer community around GNU-Linux revolutionized the internet, or the freedom of the post-war years generated cooperation from emergency, the Hermes Project will revolutionize political participation and co-design. The extent of the effect is currently not foreseeable.
As soon as man realizes that true further development is completely possible without leadership and precisely because of this he can unfold his actual potential in full force and in this way becomes conscious again of his actual ability, a community thought sets in alongside a change of consciousness, which dissolves competitive thinking and thereby removes the basis for every belligerent confrontation.
Needs become global commonality. Politics becomes a place of commonalities, not differences. A coming together of possibilities through the most diverse potentials and abilities, the world one place. Respect of each individual human being toward the next becomes undisputed, it is an inner matter of course among each other and shaped by love. Just as the indigenous people of the most remote areas adapt to their immediate environment and integrate with the available resources into the natural cycles, so lead a balanced life in harmony with nature, of which they are a part.
Man has never been a global player, there is no world human, no universal humanoid. We descend from the mammal genus, our greatest ability is adaptation, this is our survival tactic.
